Chef Pierre Cornelis
Chef Cornelis graduated from Ecole Hotelier et tourisme de Liege in Belgium and worked as a chef in a classic gastronomic restaurant after his studies.
Armed with a good working experience, he later ventured to the south of France where he had stints with different dining establishments close to the Mediterranean Sea and Corsica, where he further polished his skills in Mediterranean cuisine.
He later moved to Montreal (Quebec) Canada to work with leading hotels like the Westin Montreal and the Hilton. For five years, he was Executive Chef of Le Spa Eastman where he specialized in healthy cuisine. Chef Cornelis had written a cook book, “Le Spa Eastman a Votre table” ,featuring 100 nutritious recipes which won the gold award in 2006 as the best culinary cookbook (in French) at the annual Cuisine Canada co-organized by the University of Guelph(Ontario).
Prior to joining the De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (DLS-CSB-SHRIM) in 2009, he opened the” La Regalade:” French Restaurant (Philippine Tatler , Best Restaurants 2009) in Makati from 2008.to 2009.
At Present Chef Pierre Cornelis is Chef Instructor and Executive Chef of Vatel Restaurant Manila (De la Salle College of Saint Benilde, Maison De La Salle, Roof deck Arelleno Ave. Cor. Estrada St. Manila Philippines.
Vatel restaurant Manila was part for "Good France" in 2016/17
