Johan Liebetrau- Pofessional Head Chef and member of the South African Chef’s Association, Mr. Liebetrau loves working with his hands as he has said so! Born and raised in South Africa, although hard of hearing Mr. Liebetrau communicates effectively with management and team members. He is loved by all and well understood. Trailing his experience for 17 years, Mr. Liebetrau knows his way around stand-alone restaurants and 4 & 5-star hotel restaurants. Johan performs according to standards, is flexible and innovative, tackles challenges and transforms them into opportunities just as he does with his dishes. Well-known for presenting outstanding dishes that leaves anyone with a watery mouth, Johan is quite the professional, he is courteous in his demeanour with members of the team, he is playful, flexible and easy-going. Johan pushes the envelope and is not scared to use fruits and vegetables offered to him by nature at its own season and delivers a mix of exploding flavours that one just has to ask for the recipe. In December 2017, he was interviewed and filmed by local tv station, ENCA-Tv, as he successfully prepared one of his own delicious Christmas meals. This great moment in Johan’s life allows him to inspire and motivate other impaired people in South Africa to chase their dreams, make a statement and prove to the world that a disability should not let it become part of your essence or an obstacle to who you are destined to be. Mr Johan Liebetrau has been destined to be a great Chef, inspiring figure and he has so been, proven it is in his love and passion for food.
Elizabeth Nthite - Elizabeth is a local who knows real tastes and preferences of appreciators of good and local cuisine. Although she is our Sous Chef she has been working with Executive Chefs, international and local for the last 10 years. Elizabeth knows her way around not only in the kitchen, but around important kitchen elements that bring together great dishes and great flavours. At the hotel, Elizabeth shares her experiences and lessons with her team members, she provides direction and ensures that simple food is made with love, passion and that special ingredient that only she knows, keep customers coming back for more. Part of her duties, at which she excels, is to achieve reasonable costs to ensure that the restaurant is profitable not only for its benefit but for the community. Elizabeth believes in giving back to the community and she does so by regularly promoting soup kitchens and other charitable small events to ensure the well-being of others around the restaurant. She is an inspiration not only as a chef but as a true leader. What motivates her may you ask? Well, she is a food-lover!
