Chef Victor Magsaysay has been living in Paris since 2002.
Formally trained as an artist and designer at FIT in New York. His career in gastronomy started without formal training in 2008 at Les Ombres at The Musee Quai Branly and eventually as the executive chef of Le Theatre de Renard an art noveau landmark theater in the Marais.
In 2010 he was the only non-japanese hired as the chef of Sake Bar the seat of the fashionable franco-japonais movement in cuisine along with Guilo Guilo and Sola.
In 2012 he opened Ito Izakaya in the South Pigalle district with 2 friends. Ito and its inventive menu has been noted by Le Figaro as one of the 5 best japanese in 2013 and 2014, Vanity Fair France's 10 favorite restaurants and Vouge to name a few.
Victor's creative style has been noted yearly in Le Fooding since 2010 at Sake Bar. Victor developed a distinct multi-cultural style that is representative of modern Paris cuisine.
He has re discovered his native land facinated with the elements of its rich regional cuisine and lesser known tribal recipies.
