Kapila Jayasinghe – Executive Chef, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo
Cinnamon Lakeside’s award-winning Executive Chef Kapila Jayasinghe counts nearly 27 years in the industry, having worked both locally and overseas, with tenures at Abu Dhabi Hilton, Abu Dhabi Millennium Hotel and Katara Hotels in Doha, Qatar.
He has mastered Mediterranean and seafood cooking, with a passion for molecular gastronomy. Having been inspired by his own mother’s simple but delicious food, he started young, learning basic kitchen skills before joining the Ceylon Hotel School.
He and his teams at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo have been recognised with numerous awards over the years. These include the Best Five Star City Hotel Team, All Island Hotel Culinary Champions, Most Outstanding Overall Hotel Champions, and the Most Outstanding Overall Culinary Team.
Today, Chef Kapila heads the150-member chefs brigade of the Sri Lanka Tourism’s Best Five Star City Hotel, providing knowledge, mentoring and inspiration to continue to create a culture of culinary excellence and innovation.
