You can say great cooking has always been in the stars for Gwenaël. Born in Lyon and raised in Bretagne, his father was a Chef in their family owned restaurant, where from the tender age of 10, he began to work in the kitchen during the school holidays.
Growing up he furthered his education under the tutelage of Michelin star chefs in France before moving abroad at the age of 19 to experience the cuisines of the world and achieving a strong knowledge in Mediterranean cuisine. Travelling extensively and picking up many styles and techniques, Gwenaël honed his talents and served in the kitchens of high-end brands such as Fregate Island Private, Six Senses Soneva Gili in Maldives, Constance Ephelia, and Banyan Tree Seychelles to mention a few.
Now a respected Chef of his own right, Gwenaël is passionate about cooking the local flavors of the Seychelles, especially its high-quality fish. He takes pride in tutoring and developing local chefs and apprentices as he too once was.
Today he brings his genius to the table at L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa, the culmination of his life’s gastronomic journey throughout the world gracing our plates and palates through his brilliant creations. He is extremely excited to lead the Culinary team of Seychelles’ newest Resort and is looking forward to welcoming you in one of our outlets.
