Born in Bernau bei Berlin, Germany, Chef Lars was closely surrounded by the intricacies of traditional European cuisine during the growing up years. After graduating with a Masters Craftsman’s Diploma from the Hotel and Restaurant school in Cologne, Lars has been one of the most prized assets of the Hyatt family. He boasts of an extraordinary bond of twenty years with Hyatt and has travelled across eight different countries, learning and cooking each day.
Starting from Hyatt Regency Cologne, Germany as the Demi Chef and Chef de Partie Lars has a lot of other hotels and countries to name including Grand Hyatt Amman, Jordan, Hyatt Regency La Manga, Spain ; Grand Hyatt Cairo, Egypt and Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, UK and Park Hyatt Hyderabad in India and Hyatt Regency Istanbul, Atakoy, Turkey.
Chef Lars Windfuhr is presently the Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and going places with his simple philosophy that believes in fresh and authentic cooking.
