Hailing from Argentina, Chef Gerardo Recabarren is the chef in charge for all the culinary delights at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. After graduating from Celia Escuela Integral Gastronomica in Argentina, he started his career in his hometown, Cordoba, as a trainee and rose through the ranks to the chef de partie role shortly. In 2006 Chef Recabarren moved overseas as chef tournant at the luxury JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes hotel in the US. Experience gained here enabled Mr. Recabarren to take on his first supervisory role in a hotel environment at JW Marriott in Dubai, UAE and to move shortly after into a sous chef position at Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.
Prior to his appointment in 2014 at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal, Mr. Recabarren was based in North America where he first worked as a sous chef at Steeplechase restaurant specializing in modern American cuisine in Florida, Boca Raton, before moving to North Dakota to gain experience at an all-day dining restaurant.
