Jon Evans comes from the small town of Healdsburg, nestled amongst the vineyards and rolling hills of the Sonoma County coastline in northern California. His strong culinary background, nurtured from a young age in award-winning gourmet bakeries, cafes, restaurants and wineries of Healdsburg spans almost 20 years. Further cultivated in the roles of Snr. Sous Chef and Executive Chef in bustling fine dining kitchens of Lake Tahoe, he won 3 gold medals and 1 silver at the 2018 Lake Tahoe Food and Wine Festival.
He fell in love with Cape Town and moved to the Mother City in 2018, where he has worked as Executive Chef and General Manager at Swan Cafe.
Jon is passionate about fresh quality ingredients and striking flavours. He loves incorporating different styles, flavours and cuisines in his food and finding the perfect wine pairing. He takes inspiration from his surroundings, the people he meets and every day experiences.
